About the event
Disclaimer: SOML classes are strictly trauma aid classes and not tactical weapons or shooting classes. For this reason, we have partnered with Karl from Tactical Rifleman who provides those types of courses. To sign up for any weapons/shooting classes, please, go directly to their website https://www.tacticalrifleman.com/
The purpose of this class is to train the student in basic trauma medicine through a hands-on application of bleeding control concepts and get you to perform trauma aid while experiencing sensory deprivation. The class covers the MARCH-E algorithm in its entirety and will train students to respond to different injuries such as arterial bleeding, gunshot wounds, sucking chest wounds, lacerations, and other common traumatic injuries. This is a physically active class that will guide students to learn about their own physiological responses to trauma aid via multiple stress-inducing scenarios. This class develops teamwork as well as individual’ skills through repetition of the skills being taught. Students will be expected to render aid to self and others while possibly enduring simulated injuries in force-on-force scenarios. Students will leave this class feeling confident in their ability to save lives. This is an 8-hour physically active class. Students should be capable of lifting 40lbs unassisted. Wear disposable, comfortable clothes to move in and closed-toed shoes.
